Welcome to The Qi Reset Letter

One practical recovery protocol every week. No hype.

Opening Note

This week's issue is about a simple idea: recovery is often less about adding intensity and more about restoring movement and reducing input. If your lower back feels heavy by mid-afternoon or your brain stays on after the laptop closes, the answer is usually not another optimization layer. It is a better downshift.

This week's featured protocol is a 20-minute evening downshift for people whose minds keep running after work ends.

What it is: A four-part evening sequence built around dimmer light, gentle physical release, slower breathing, and a quiet landing before bed.

The four parts:

  • Environmental signal: reduce bright light and stop new input
  • Physical release: unwind the work posture with a few easy movements
  • Breath downshift: use a longer exhale to reduce late-day activation
  • Quiet landing: stop feeding the system before bed

Best time to use: About 30-60 minutes before sleep, especially on nights when your body feels tired but your mind still feels busy.

Article Roundup

Published this week:

  1. Chair Break Sequence for Lower Back Pressure — A short desk-side movement break to interrupt the stiffness and heaviness that build during long sitting.
  2. Sleep Downshift for Screen Workers — A practical evening routine for reducing stimulation before bed without turning sleep into another project.

One Simple Experiment

Try this for the next two workdays:

  • Use the chair break sequence once before lunch
  • Use it once again in the late afternoon
  • End the evening with 4-6 minutes of slower breathing in dim light

The goal is not perfection. The goal is to give your body one daytime release and one nighttime landing.
